Does the Dag Hammarskjöld Library accept publications as gifts?

The primary purpose of the Library collection is to facilitate the implementation of the United Nations’ goals by meeting the information needs of staff and delegates and to document the institutional memory of the Organization. The Library will solicit gifts from authors as needed to meet this purpose. 

The Library does not accept unsolicited gifts of publications in any format.

Disposition of any unsolicited material will be at the discretion of the Library.

The Library will not communicate with donors regarding gifts that were sent unsolicited.

You may send us the publication details of where we may purchase your publication if you wish to recommend it to the Library.

The decision to purchase rests with the Library and the Library will not inform the author of the decision.
