Abraham H. Feller was the first Legal Counsel of the United Nations and the Principal Director of the Legal Department from 1946-1952.
Feller was a prominent legal scholar and served the UN during the United States investigation of "subversives" in the UN Secretariat. He committed suicide on 13 November 1952.
The original space for the Legal Library (S-3455) was dedicated to him on 6 October 1953.
