When is World Press Freedom Day?

World Press Freedom Day is observed annually on 3 May, in accordance with General Assembly decision 48/432 of 20 December 1993 (see p. 366 of A/48/49 (Vol.I)). This decision recalls Economic and Social Council resolution 1993/54, which in turn refers to the recommendation of UNESCO General Conference.
