The Ad Hoc Committee on the Scope of Legal Protection under the Convention on the Safety of United Nations and Associated Personnel was established by A/RES/56/69 of 12 Dec. 2001. The Committee is to consider recommendations made by the Secretary-General in his report A/55/637 of 21 Nov. 2000.

The Ad Hoc Committee has not met since the adoption by the General Assembly of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Safety of United Nations and Associated Personnel in A/RES/60/42 of 8 Dec. 2005.
