The Ad Hoc Committee on a Comprehensive and Integral International Convention on Protection and Promotion of the Rights and Dignity of Persons with Disabilities was established by A/RES/56/168 of of 19 December 2001.

The final report, including the draft resolution for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, was issued in 2006 under the document number A/61/611.
