How was the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) established?

The International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) was established by A/RES/3042 (XXVII) of 19 December 1972 to succeed the International Civil Service Advisory Board as of 1 January 1974.

The General Assembly adopted the statute of the International Civil Service Commission in A/RES/3357 (XXIX) of 18 December 1974.

The International Civil Service Commission replaced the International Civil Service Advisory Board (ICSAB) that was operational from 1949 until 1974.
