Yes, the Dag Hammarskjöld Library collects maps from around the world, including:

  • UN-produced maps
    • UN Geospatial Information Section website has current maps
  • treaty maps
  • maps produced by government agencies and commercial map-makers

Currently, we focus our collection building on areas in which the UN is active. Maps from our collections are used by the UN Geospatial Information Section to create new maps, as well as by other members of the UN community in New York to support their research.

We also collect atlases and other materials related to maps and map-making.

Many of our maps have not been included in the Library's catalogue. Please contact us if you have a question about our map collection.

ReliefWeb is a great source for maps related to humanitarian relief efforts around the world, including maps for re-use in UN publications.
