Where can I find information about sanctions mandated by the Security Council?
Last Updated: May 11, 2018
Information about Security Council sanctions is available on the Security Council Subsidiary Organs website under Sanctions. For information on each committee, please select from the drop down list on the sanctions tab.
The Repertoire of the Practice of the Security Council provides an analysis of the actions related to sanctions taken by the Council and its subsidiaries. Sanctions are considered actions under Article 41 of the Charter of the United Nations.
In general, the terms of any sanctions imposed are defined in the Security Council resolution that imposes them.
